Africa Day 2022
✨The most anticipated show of the year is FINALLY HERE! ✨The Organization of African Students present Africa Day 2022: “African Futurism”🌍. Doors open at 5:00 pm and close at 6:15 pm sharp on Saturday, March 26th at Newcomb Ballroom. There are a limited amount of early bird tickets for show + after party bundle, so get yours now‼️You do NOT want to miss out on a night FULL of food, performances, and fashion! The 8th Annual Umoja Ball
Every Fall semester, OAS hosts its annual Umoja Benefit Ball as a way to engage the wider UVA community with impactful work being done on the continent by various NGOs. During this event, we usually collectively fundraise and campaign for an organization or cause that is actively impacting the continent or the African diaspora. This year, our goal is to create a scholarship fund that will be awarded to students at the Charlottesville High School from African descent.

Africa Day 2021
The Organization of African Students present Africa Day 2021. Doors open at 7:00pm at the Amphitheater on April 10th, 2021. Only Students, Faculty, and Staff at the University will be allowed as attendees for this event. The first 80 Early Bird Ticket entry cost will be $5 for due paying members and $8 for non due paying members which will fully cover the cost of food when the show is over. Anonymous Advice and Confessions Column
The Organization of African Students present: Anonymous Advice and Confession Column! Do you have an interesting story to tell or need advice but want to stay anonymous? Submit your story or question on the link. The event will take place on April 9th, at 6:30 pm, be sure to tune in!
Hoos Got Talent?
Do you have any special talents you would like to share with the Black community? You have until the 20th to submit the form to participate. Showcase will be on the 28th at 6pm! We look forward to seeing what Black UVA has to share! Join us for our second general body meeting as we showcase Black talent across the University, whether it is artwork, spoken word, singing, dancing, rapping, etc., we want to see it all!

Midterms coming up? Get your cup of coffee before and come study with OAS at 6 pm on Thursday (Feb 25)! We'll have on site assistance for various courses in the form of our Local Experts, study break games and chill music, so come vibe!

Black History Month Movie Night
Please join OAS at our African Movie Night this Thursday, February 15 at 7:30 pm! We will watch the movie using the chrome extension "Teleparty," (formerly known as "Netflix Party"). At 7:30 those who are in the zoom call will receive the movie link and step-by-step instructions on how to install the extension. After all the participants are in the teleparty, we will be able to watch the movie in sync on our respective computers and still be able to communicate with the chat feature. We hope to see you there!
